I feel like I've been counting down the days to fall for months. I'm ready to pull out my denim jacket and take a walk, crunching leaves on the sidewalk and enjoying cooler weather. I just need the leaves to start changing.

If you want to know exactly when the fall foliage will be at its most colorful to plan your own ideal day in the leaves, there's a tool for that. SmokyMountains.com created the 2019 Fall Foliage Prediction Map showing peak times to see the changing leaves across 48 states.

Go to the map and you'll find a toggled timeline. Move through the timeline and see how the map changes as the leaves do, showing how the foliage moves toward and past its peak.

No tool is completely accurate of course, but this should give a good enough timeline if you'd like to plan a fall trip, or just looking forward to the sights.

Unfortunately for me, Austin, Texas won't see its peak until late November.
