The Career on Wheels Fair returned to Syracuse Elementary School May 8, 2025. A favorite of students, the fair featured 14 vendors.

In its third year, the fair featured some new organizations and some returning organizations.

Mrs. Megan Pellatz, Elementary School Counselor, said, “This is always one of my favorite events of the year. The way the community comes together to support our students and just seeing the vehicles lined up all the way around the school – It is the coolest thing.”

Pre-K through 3rd grade classes rotated through the “hands on learning” event that bordered the Elementary School on three sides.

Mrs. Pellatz credits the success of the event to the supportive administration, teachers and paraeducators who she says are willing to help out to make the day successful for the students.

The following businesses participated: AKRS, Frontier, J&M Fencing, KanEquip, Keim Farm Equipment, Nebraska Machinery Company, OPPD, Otoe County Sheriff, Crazy Dog Coffee, Syracuse Fire and Rescue, 10/11, Teten Precision Ag Advantage, LLC. and US Marines.

“I am truly grateful for everyone who comes out to help make this day a success for our students. I know that many people take off work and volunteer their time to make this a success. All of our careers that join us do such a great job of making everything so student friendly and we love that for them!” Pellatz said.

Mrs. Pellatz said the planning for next event starts right away and takes into consideration students’ input.
