Syracuse High hosts 2025 commencement

The Syracuse High Graduation Ceremony was held Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 4 pm. Forty five seniors entered the Middle School Gym to “Pomp and Circumstance” by Edwards Elgar arr. Foster played by the Syracuse Symphonic Band led by Brandy Hall, Band teacher. After the presentation of flowers, Platform 11 sang, “Never Grow Up” by Taylor Swift led by Garrett Reese, High School Vocal Music teacher.

The Salutatorian address was given by Claire Noerrlinger and the Valedictorian address was given by Jayden Meyer. Noerrlinger, Meyer, Cy Petersen and Preston Rumery were recognized for being in the top ten percent of the class. Noerrlinger and Meyer were both inductees into the Rocket Hall of Fame for which the criteria is a 4.0 GPA and/or an ACT score of 30 or higher.

Principal Jarred Royal presented awards read by High School Counselor, Jaqueline Mohr. Superintendent David Kraus presented the Class of 2025 with Board of Education President, Barry Janssen, presenting diplomas.

The class flower was the yellow rose; the class colors was hunter green and champagne; and the class motto was “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined” by Henry Thoreau. Jenna Voorhees and Reagan Wilhelm were the Honor Guards. Steve Sayer and Gregg Wiebusch are the class sponsors.\
