The Syracuse Starlettes Dance team received a second-place finish in the Hip Hop category at the Heartland Championships in the C-1 Division. The competition was held at Standing Bear High School in Lincoln January 12, 2025. The six-member team also competed in the Pom division.

Sophomores Hadyn Berner and Zoey Sieck along with team sponsor Ashley Anderson choreographed both routines.

Anderson said they gained good competition experience. She added, “We are encouraged about the results, because we have a tremendously young and inexperienced team this year. Hip Hop has been our strongest dance style over the years, so we are happy to carry on that tradition.”

The Starlettes will perform both their routines at the home basketball games on February 11, 2025. The state competition will be Friday, February 21, 2025.
