Syracuse Blood Drive 5-30-25

The Syracuse Community Blood drive will be held Tuesday, June 3 from 11:15 a.m.-5 p.m. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church.

Please consider giving blood. A blood shortage is still currently affecting our country. Donating blood is an easy way to help others and only takes about an hour. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients.

One donation saves three lives. Donating blood can also be beneficial to you. When you donate blood regularly it can help lower blood viscosity, potentially reducing cardiovascular risk factors like heart attack and stroke. It can also help regulate iron levels, which is important for overall health. Additionally, donating blood can stimulate the immune system and potentially improve mental well-being.

To donate, the American Red Cross recommends getting a good night’s sleep, drinking an extra 16 ounces of water, eating iron-rich food to maintain a healthy iron level, and consuming a low-fat meal before donating.

To make an appointment you may go online to redcrossblood.org or call Traci Bjork at 402-874-1178. Walk-ins our welcome.
