The inaugural Otoe Cornhole Tournament attracted over 150 people to town.

The tournament that started at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, featured two categories, doubles and singles. There were 32 doubles teams and several single competitors.

Organized in part by Mike Koch, the event was a fundraiser to make improvements at the park in Otoe and general betterment of the community.

Raffle items included a two-person pheasant hunt sponsored by Beede Outdoors LLC, two half hogs donated by Pelican Meat in Johnson with processing sponsored by Otoe Coyote Hunters, and two Husker volleyball suite tickets sponsored by Lindsay Peterson. The Otoe Rod & Gun Club hosted the beer garden.

Koch said tournament will be held again next year with a date to be determined and is optimistic for an even better outcome than this year.
