The Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Rockets volleyball team lost in the championship game against Wahoo, during the Nebraska Capitol Conference championship on Saturday, October 13.

In the first round of the tournament, the Rockets defeated Fort Calhoun in three sets; 25-8. 25-16, 25-15.
S-D-A had a kill percentage of .50 in this contest.  

Lauren Meyer led all Rockets in kills with 14; Meredith Clark, 10; Aubrey Kasbohm, nine; Jessie Moss, eight.
Meyer and Jessie Moss, each had 12 digs and Brooke Snyder assisted teammates 37 times.

Second round: The Rockets defeated DC West in five sets; 18-25, 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 15-5.

Meredith Clark broke the Rockets career kill record in the second set and surpassed the 1,037 kill mark.
Head Coach Courtney Vangroningen said that Clark’s accomplishment is awesome, but everything we do, we do as a team.  With districts around the corner, Vangroningen said, “We are just focusing one day and one game at a time so we are at our peak by the end of the season.”

Lauren Meyer contributed 20 kills against DC West; Jessie Moss, 17; Clark, 15.
Jessie Moss led with five ace serves and Clark was solid at the net with five blocks.
Digs; Jessie Moss, 29, Meyer, 21; Clark, 15; Megan Wallman, 14.
Snyder added 22 digs and 52 assists.

Championship: The 23 and 2 Wahoo Warriors swept the Rockets in the NCC championship game; 25-20, 25-17, 25-21.

Jessie Moss paved the way in kills with 12; Clark eight; Meyer, six.
Brooklyn Nordhues had two ace serves during this contest and Snyder came away with 25 assists.

The Rockets (20-2) will take on Arlington (2-21) on Tuesday, October 16, at Syracuse starting at 7 p.m.
