Alayna Nannen controlled the circle against Platteview. Nannen did not give up a hit until the seventh inning as the Rockets won 7 to 1 on August 16, to open up the softball season.

 “I thought we played really well," Coach Wiebusch said.  "I thought we left a few too many runners on base, but hopefully we can chalk that up to first game jitters."

Nannen went the distance and earned the win by allowing one run, on one hit, while striking out four.

The S-D-A Rockets shelled out 12 hits.  Grace Damme was 3-for-4 with three singles, two RBI and scored once.  Also  providing hits was Lauren Siefken.  Siefken had two singles and a double and scored twice.

Hitting: Sam Pester, two singles; Madison Mueller, Brooke Carlson, Sydney Wellsandt, and Brynn Krieger, each had singles.

RBI: Pester and Mueller, one each.

Runs scored: Mueller, Carlson, Suzy Shanks, and Krieger, one each.

The Rockets will be at home on Tuesday, August 21, to face Milford.  JV will begin at 5 pm.  Varsity will start at 6:30 pm.
