The 2015-16 boys’ basketball season came to an unexpected conclusion for the Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Rockets on Thursday in a subdistrict loss to Louisville at Weeping Water.

S-D-A was down four at the end of the first quarter, but battled back with a 12-point quarter to cut the deficit to one at half. The score was tied as action entered the fourth quarter.

Louisville posted 15 fourth quarter points to win the game by seven, 36-29.

Leading the scoring for the Rockets were Tim Stilmock, 12. Other scorers were Braxton Beach, 5; Monty Roberts, 4; Tanner Harsin, 3; Connor Cameron, 3; and Jake Heitkamp, 2.

The Rockets had beaten Louisville 48-42 on Jan. 9 and entered the postseason by posting solid offensive numbers against Douglas County West, 62 on Feb. 16; and against 19-win Milford, 58, on Feb. 19.

With the subdistrict loss, the Rockets wrapped up the season at 17-8.
