The field for the 2016 girls’ state basketball tournament will be set tonight with one of the district finals being hosted by Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca.

Louisville, which topped the Rockets in the Class C1-2 subdistrict final will play Auburn at 7 p.m. tonight (Feb. 26) at the S-D-A gym.

Diller-Odell, which topped the Lourdes Knights in the Class D1-1 subdistrict final will play Friend at 7 p.m. tonight (Feb. 26) at Crete.

Platteview, the favorite to win the Class B-1 district tourney, will play Waverly at 7 p.m. tonight (Feb. 26) at Bellevue East High School.

Nebraska City played in the B-1 district, falling in the opening round game against Plattsmouth on a last second three-point shot in overtime. Plattsmouth might have surprised a few by playing the unbeaten Platteview team to a 16-point margin in the second round of the B-1 tourney. The Blue Devils trailed by just six after one quarter and the margin remained the same at half before Platteview won the third quarter 24-9.
