Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse celebrated their 11 members who are 90 years or older on June 22.

Senior Saints attending were Eddie Harms, Pastor Roger Hoffman, Mary Ann Wenninghoff, Shirley Gilfert, and Clarice Neemann.

Mary Jane Engelbrecht, Janis Ehmke, Sharon Hudson, Lois Watermeier, Duane Janssen and Barb Miesbach were unable to attend.

Pastor Sarah Cordray blessed the Senior Saints during the 9 a.m. worship service and a reception followed.

A slide show featuring pictures from our Senior Saints’ youth was shown. Dean Fisk won the potted plant door prize.

The social hall was decorated with a variety of hats as the theme of the reception was the many hats our members have worn throughout their life.

LMC gives thanks for our Senior Saints’ faithfulness in our church family, for their wisdom and witness to Jesus, and for the wonderful roles they have played in our church community.

Eddie Harms is the oldest member at 101 and he was visited by one of our youngest members, Colter, who was 4 weeks old.

In addition to celebrating the Senior Saints, Shirley Gilfert’s 97th birthday was celebrated.
