After a weather-induced break from competition, the Syracuse Rocket boys’ golf team, led by Coach James Conradi, returned to action with impressive performances in a home dual against Plattsmouth and at the Palmyra Invitational held at Woodland Hills Golf Course.
The week began with a showcase of the team’s depth as the junior varsity lineup squared off against Plattsmouth in a dominant 320–384 win. Using seven scores, the Rockets were led by Drew Griepenstroh, who fired a 40, followed by Cale Stephenson with a 42. Brogan Lafollette (45), Braxton Kelch (46), Elliot Hardin (47), Diego Velazco (49), and Luke Royal (51) rounded out the strong team effort.
“This group continues to impress us with their consistency and competitiveness,” Coach Conradi said. “It’s great to see how deep our program is becoming.”
The Rockets carried that momentum into a rainy Palmyra Invitational, which was split into Gold and Silver divisions. In the Gold Division, Cade Stephenson led the Rockets with a solid 80, closely followed by Mason Lintz with an 81, and Brennan Schroeder with an 89.
Meanwhile, the Silver Division saw standout performances from Wyatt Higgins, who carded a 79 and placed third overall, and Carter Kreifels, whose 85 earned him a sixth-place finish. Cale Stephenson added an 89 to help the Silver squad clinch third place as a team.
Coach Conradi praised the team’s focus and versatility: “From varsity to JV, these guys are putting in the work and showing they can compete in any setting. That kind of depth and determination will serve us well as we move through the season.”
