The Otoe County Clerk’s Office has released unofficial results for the 2024 general election.
Voter turnout in the county was 76.59 percent, with 6,097 ballots cast on Election Day and 2,218 voters taking advantage of early voting opportunities.
In national and statewide races, Donald Trump and JD Vance received 5,628 votes in Otoe County, while Kamala Harris and Tim Walz received 2,454 votes.
U.S. Senator Deb Fischer received 4,702 votes, and challenger Dan Osborn received 3,384 votes. U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts received 5,696 votes, while challenger Preston Love Jr. received 2,320 votes.
U.S. Representative Adrian Smith received 5,686 votes, while challenger Daniel Ebers received 1,998 votes.
In the State Legislative District 1 race, Robert Hallstrom received 4,644 votes, and Dennis Schaardt received 2,536 votes.
State Public Service Commissioner Dan Watermeier was re-elected with 6,738 votes.
In the Otoe County Board of Commissioners races, District 4 Commissioner James M. Parsons was re-elected with 1,636 votes. District 5 Commissioner Danny E. Crownover was re-elected with 1,240 votes, while challenger Craig V. Bolz received 589 votes.
In the Syracuse mayor’s race, incumbent Deborah Dettmer was re-elected, receiving 849 votes. In the Syracuse city council race, Robert Johnson received 680 votes, and Wesley Halvorsen received 678 votes.
For the Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca school board, Amy Wemhoff received 1,506 votes, Tyler Kreifels received 1,331 votes, and Brianne Neeman Wilhelm received 1,309 votes. Candidates Aaron Lessmann and Kathryn Szczepaniak received 706 and 601 votes respectively.
In the Burr village board race, Donald L. Schmit received 22 votes, Gretchen E. Cooper received 19 votes, and Greg Sell received 15 votes.
In the Douglas village board race, Joe Moller received 85 votes, and Bernard Masek received 67 votes.
In the Dunbar village board race, Terry G. Weible received 48 votes, Lorna Anderson received 47 votes, Mike H. Doty received 40 votes, and Scott Richardson received 25 votes.
In the Lorton village board race, Judy Neemann received 14 votes and Jeri Rowen received 10 votes.
In the Otoe village board race, Ralph Edwards received 61 votes, Lori McElhenie received 55 votes, and Wyatt W. Hutchison received 46 votes.
In the Palmyra village board race, 121 write-in votes were cast.
In the Talmage village board race, Jeffrey Bestwick received 65 votes, and Joyce Kinnison received 54 votes.
The Talmage sales and use tax proposition received 48 votes against and 36 votes for.
In the Unadilla village board race, Jason Schomerus received 109 votes, Dale A. Stoner received 73 votes, and Scott Hincker received 59 votes.
The Unadilla Fire Protection District measure received 236 yes votes and 122 no votes.
