Former Otoe, Nebraska resident Arlene Voges died on June 21 at her home in Jacksonville, FL. At her request, no service will be held at this time. Mrs. Voges was born June 20, 1935 in rural Otoe to Ralph and Ruby Kastens. She later settled in Wichita, KS with her ex- husband, Ken Steinhoff, where she raised a family and worked many years as a secretary. She married Charles Voges in 1976 and they moved back to Otoe, NE in their retirement years before moving to Jacksonville, FL in 2012. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Avoca, NE, and enjoyed playing cards and gathering with family and friends. Survivors include husband, Charles (Larry) Voges, son and daughter and their spouses in the Jacksonville area, David and Louisa Steinhoff and Janelle and Russell Thompson, as well as daughter-in-law, Shera Steinhoff of Oklahoma City, step-sons and daughters-in-law Craig and Karol Carlson of Lincoln, NE, Jeff and Ruth Weyers of Canton, IL, and step-daughter and son-in-law, Diana and David Lewis of Decatur, IL. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, her sister and brother-in-law Betty and John Bennett of Syracuse, NE, and brother and sister-in-law Merlin and Dianne Kastens of Harlen, IA. She was preceded in death by her son, Doug Steinhoff, her sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Roby Lamb and her parents, Ralph and Ruby Kastens.
