Ralph L. Ross
Syracuse - Ralph L. Ross, 81 of Syracuse, was born on January 20, 1940, in Lincoln, NE to Raymond & Vera (Kruse) Ross. He passed away on August 31, 2021, at the VA Hospital in Omaha. Ralph graduated from the Omaha School of Barbering. After obtaining his Master Barber license, he practiced in varies towns in Nebraska.
Then Ralph served in the Navy from 1962-1966 aboard the USS James C. Owens, DD776 out of Charleston, South Carolina. Ralph married the love of his life Jane Epp on October 4, 1969. After they got married, they moved to Syracuse, NE. Ralph and Jane owned and operated Syracuse Transfer until 2000. Then Ralph worked part time at Peels Salon Services until 2007. After they retired Ralph & Jane traveled around the United States in their fifth wheel and finally settled in Texas for the winters.
Ralph was involved in many community organizations, such as Western Star #2 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Tangier Shrine and Arbor Shrine Club. If you met Ralph, he loved to tell jokes and stories. His laugh was contagious with his pipe in his mouth.
Ralph is survived by his wife: Jane; son: Jason & daughter-in-law: Laura. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Tuesday, September 7 from 5-8 P.M. with family greeting friends at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse.
A private burial will be held at the Omaha National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tangier Ladies Auxiliary Wheelchair Fund.
