Dennis Dale Stubbendick
Lincoln - Dennis Dale Stubbendick (75) died on July 5, 2021, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Denny was born on October 12, 1945, in Omaha to Dale and Bernice (Albers) Stubbendick, and soon brought home to the family farm in rural Avoca. Baptized as a beloved child of God on November 25, 1945, and confirmed in faith on April 10, 1960, Denny was raised near First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in Avoca. He married Linda Specht at First Lutheran on February 28, 1976, to whom he was married for more than 45 years in their homes in Syracuse and Waverly, Nebraska.
Dennis will be wrapped in God's eternal care with a memorial service at United Lutheran Church (5945 Fremont Street, Lincoln, Nebraska) on Monday, July 12, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Neal Anthony will preside at worship with Holy Communion. A simple lunch will be served at the church afterwards. His committal will be at 2 p.m. that afternoon at First Lutheran Church (1434 N 30th Rd.) Avoca, Nebraska with military rites preceding the internment, bringing his life and faith full circle to where it began.
Denny is survived by his wife Linda (Specht) of Waverly, Nebraska; Daughter, Lisa (Aaron) Delhay of Adams, Nebraska; Son, Adam (Jordan) Miller-Stubbendick of Kenmore, New York; Grandchildren, Elijah Delhay, Solomon Delhay, Rebekah Delhay, Julian Miller-Stubbendick, and Ari Miller-Stubbendick. Additional family include his sister, Betty (Glen) Royal; brother-in-law William (Barbara) Specht, nieces and nephews Kevin Royal, Kenneth Royal, Kimberly Hartwick, Cindy Brooks, Mike Specht, Susan Specht, and Teresa Gault; and numerous additional family and friends.
