Tom Gibson, 77, of Watson, Mo., passed away Aug. 28, 2019.
He was born Feb. 19, 1942, in Chatom, Ala., to Henry  and Hattie (Carpenter) Gibson. He attended school in Chatom and finished schooling in the U.S. Army, serving from 1960-1965.
Tom married Kay Holmes on Sept.12, 1962. He worked at Missouri Beef Packers and as a carpenter foreman for 25 years.  
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include his sister, Alice (Jim) Singleton; and his wife, Kay, and their three children, Tammy Oakes (Steve Jones), Thomas Jr. (Tammy) Gibson, and Anna Beth (John) Wennihan; sister-in-law, Malinda Gibson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chris and Holly Holmes; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were to be Monday, Sept. 2, 10:30 a.m., Atchison County Memorial Building. Interment with military rites provided by the Ralph Greer American Legion Post 49:  High Creek Cemetery.
