Darrel Taylor Isaacs, Sr., 86, of Beatrice, died March 16, 2019, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Lincoln.
Darrel loved helping young things grow. Babies, boys and girls, foals, puppies, kittens, calves, piglets, lambs – he never said “no” to the chance help a new one grow up.
He was born on his parents’ farm in Unadilla on Feb. 7, 1933. He walked across the section to country school, eventually graduating in a class of six at Unadilla High School in 1950. His formal education done, Darrel took up the profession of farming on the family place in Unadilla. He worked hard as a dairy farmer, at one time delivering milk to homes in town (Lincoln), and then raised hogs.
Finally he enjoyed working for the USDA as a crop surveyor/statistician.
He retired with his wife Beverly to land near the Homestead National Monument, where they enjoyed raising and showing Paint horses.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Beverly Loden Isaacs, and children Deb and Lee Mead, Peg Isaacs, Wanda and Dave Parks, Daryla Isaacs and Mike, Darrel, Jr., and Tomoko Isaacs, Jeff and Kate Loden, Cheryl and Curt Roelle, Scott and Carol Schneider, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Darrel loved them all.
Darrel was preceded in death by parents Floyd and Iva Isaacs, siblings Phyllis Pickerell, John and Wreatha Isaacs, daughter Pam Isaacs, spouse Eva Isaacs, and ex-spouse Jacquelyn Williams.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Unadilla United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by  Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, NE
