Betty J. Searcy, age 86, of Nebraska City, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at The Ambassador in Nebraska City.
Betty Joan (Bradley) Searcy was born on April 22, 1931, in Watson, Mo.; the daughter of George and Mary A. (Hartman) Bradley.  She grew up in Watson and graduated from Watson High School with the class of 1947.
She was united in marriage to Marion A. Searcy on Jan. 26, 1963, in Stroud, Okla. Betty worked for Midwest Construction in Nebraska City for 43 years.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Marion Searcy of Nebraska City; daughter Melissa Taylor and husband Terry of Nebraska City, and a son Mike Walker of Minneapolis, Minn.; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters:  Patricia, Doris and Marjorie and two brothers:  Jim and Bill.
A Celebration of Life Gathering/Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, Jan. 25 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
Memorials may be given to Hearts United for Animals, the Nebraska Humane Society or the Donor’s favorite charity.
