Joseph “Joey” E. Glover, Jr., age 62, of Nebraska City, died Nov. 4, 2017 at his home.  
Joey was born Oct. 5, 1955, in Nebraska City, the son of Joseph and Ruby (Custard) Glover.  
Joey was baptized as an infant at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn and was confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City.  
Joey rode horses and ponies from the age of 7 to 40 when his favorite horse died and he didn’t like any other.  
He rode in horse shows all around the area with the Nebraska City Saddle Club and the Go Go Riders.  
He attended Arbor Training Center, now known as Region V Services when he was 4 years old.  
He worked at a variety of businesses, including Nebraska City Manor, Godfather’s Pizza and Alco.  
In recent years, he sewed at Region V Workshop making tool bags for the government.  
Joey was a member of the Nebraska City Jaycees and Tuesday Night Bowling League.  
Joey’s sister in law and niece are Kansas City Chiefs Red Coaters and he traveled with them to away games for 8 years. Joey was a big Husker and Chiefs fan and he liked watching wrestling and working on latch hook rugs.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby Glover; sister, Kathryn Shefferd, nieces, Jessica Shefferd, Lacey Glover and Stephanie Eutsler; nephew Levi Glover; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael.  
Funeral services were to be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City with burial at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.  
Visitations were to be 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
