Larry R. Baker, age 59 of Nebraska City passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, at The Ambassador in Sidney.
Larry was born on Dec. 3, 1957, in Nebraska City; the son of Robert Wollen and Edna May (McConnaughey) Baker.  He attended school at Nemaha Valley.
He was married to Chris Trull.  They later divorced, but have remained close friends.  
Larry worked most of his life as a garage man.  He enjoyed over 30 years as a Sanitation Engineer in and around Nebraska City.
Larry had many hobbies he enjoyed in life.  He loved NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt.  
He collected NASCAR memorabilia and was a good mechanic himself.  
He was the go to man  among his family and friends when it came to their cars. He kept everybody’s car running. He would do anything for anybody.  
Larry was a simple man who did not complain.  He enjoyed spending time with his children, writing poetry, drawing and listening to music.  He also liked fishing, hunting, and watching the western channels on TV.
He is survived by his children:  Billie Baker and Nicholas Baker; one grandchild Linkoln Baker; significant other Chris Trull; siblings:  Diane Bossung and partner Micky of Nebraska City; Patricia Jo Mullins of Sidney, Iowa; Sue Thompson and husband Theodore of Sidney, Iowa; Kathy Wiles and husband Ken of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Jill White and husband Michael of Sidney, Iowa, and Karen Baker of Cook; many nieces and nephews and other family and friends, including special friends:  Gene Snyder, Jimmy Olsen, Linda Martin, B.J. Aldana, David Goeden, Scott Sydow and sister-in-law Sherri Stack.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Vicki McKee. Larry’s wishes were to be cremated with no services to be held.
The Baker family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Ambassador Sidney for their care and continued support. Their love and compassion was greatly appreciated at their time of need.
