Ronald H. Kreifels, 71 years, of Fremont, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his home.   He was born May 31, 1945 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Otto and Gertrude (Straub)Kreifels .  
Ron lived in Nebraska City and graduated Lourdes Central High School in 1963.  
He served in the Nebraska National Guard and Army Reserves from 1965 to 1971.
 Ron married Barbara Liesemeyer on Sept. 18, 1970, in Nebraska City.  
The couple moved to Fremont in December of 1971.   Ronald was a Nebraska State Patrolman, Troop A out of Omaha until he retired in 1997. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.                            .
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Fremont; son, Wayne and wife, Kristi Kreifels; and grandchildren, Wyatt and Sidney Kreifels and their mother, Jennie Kreifels all of Fremont; daughter, Michelle and husband, Scott Jarman of Cedar Bluffs; and grandchildren, Taylor Jarman of  St. Libory; and Justin and Ashley Jarman of Cedar Bluffs; and sister, Regina and husband, Ron Barrett of Lincoln.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Theresa A. Kreifels; brothers, Bernie, Jerry, Elwood and Dan Kreifels; sisters, Ramona Schreiner, Juanita Enberg and Delrosa Reige; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and June Liesemeyer.
A Funeral Mass was to be 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 27, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.  
A Rosary was to be Sunday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.  
Visitation with family receiving friends was to be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moser’s and on Monday at church one hour prior to service.  Military graveside service were to be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post 854 and American Legion Post 20 at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
