Robert N. Agnew, age 69 of Hamburg, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at the Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg.
Robert was born on Sept. 17, 1947, in Omaha; the son of James Lambert and Margaret Marie (Shebilsky) Agnew.  
He attended school in Omaha and graduated from Omaha South High School in 1965. He went on to Peru State College and graduated in December of 1968 with his Teaching Degree. Bob taught in the Hamburg Public Schools for eight years teaching Social Science, History and American Government.  
He was united in marriage to Linda Marie Oestmann on June 8, 1968, in Auburn.
In 1976,  he purchased the hardware store in Hamburg and it became A&A Hardware. During the last 40 years, he performed numerous service calls for plumbing, heating and electrical repair.
He is survived by his wife Linda Agnew of Hamburg; children:  Amy Herron and husband Kelley of Rock Port, Mo.; Carrie Harris and husband Anthony of Indianola, and Michael Agnew and wife Jennifer of Wilton, Iowa; six grandchildren:  Emily Herron, Nicholas Herron, Joey Herron, Christian Harris, Mark Harris and Ava Agnew; a brother James L. Agnew of West Des Moines; friend Wes Day of West Des Moines; other family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Robert Neal Agnew, Jr.
Funeral Services were to be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Hamburg with Pastors Michael Agnew and Humberto Gonzalez officiating.
 Burial was to follow at the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg.
The family was to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening (12/14) at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg.
 Memorials may be given to the Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg.
