Delrosa J. Riege, 76 of Nebraska City.passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016.
Delrosa was born on Oct. 22, 1939, at rural Avoca; the daughter of Otto Maximillion and Gertrude Antoinette (Straub) Kreifels.  
She graduated from St. Bernard’s Academy in Nebraska City.  
She was united in marriage to Orville F. Riege on April 24, 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City.
She worked at St. Mary's Hospital, she was a secretary at a Nebraska City Public School, she was an abstractor for Brandt, Horan, & Hallstrom, and she was the Register of Deeds for Otoe County retiring on Sept. 1, 2001.
She also was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Eagles Auxiliary 968, American Legion Auxiliary, Tree City Garden Club, and American Heart Association, and she served on the Otoe-Cass-Sarpy Counties Mental Health Board, and was a Friend of Morton James Library.
Delrosa  enjoyed nature, gardening, traveling, and was an avid reader during her retirement, but her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family gatherings and holidays.     
Those left to cherish her memory include her children:  Julie Riege and husband Jeff Conway of Overland Park, Kan.; Janet Palmtag and husband John of rural Nebraska City; Jeri Johns and husband Vic of Nebraska City, and Mike Riege and wife Janis of Nebraska City; 26 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Jim Nelson of Huron, S.D.; daughter-in-law Margaret Riege of Greenwood; siblings:  Regina Barrett and husband Ron of Lincoln, and Ron Kreifels and wife Barb of Fremont; sisters-in-law Mary Kay Kreifels of Falls City, and Marilyn Kreifels of Omaha; other family and friends.
Delrosa was preceded in death by her husband Orville Riege in 1993; two children:  Joan Nelson in 1999 and Mark Riege in 2010; granddaughter Katie Johns in 1990, grandson Matthew Nelson in 2011; great-grandson Gaige Nelson in 2002; siblings:  Elwood Kreifels and wife Phyllis; Jerry Kreifels and wife Nettie; Ramona Schreiner and husband Harry; Bernard Kreifels; Dan Kreifels and Juanita Engberg and husband Mel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City with Fr. Michael McCabe officiating.  Burial will follow the services at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nebraska City.
The family was to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation or Lourdes Central Catholic Schools.
