Lillian Frields, a Nebraska City High School student and representative from the United Against Violence committee, proposed a BEKIND art project that could be shared between Otoe County’s four school districts: Nebraska City, Lourdes, Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca and Palmyra. Mr. Schroeder's Construction Academy students from Nebraska City High School designed and created the heart shaped wood cuts. Then, Nebraska City High School art students Vinh Phan, Abby Arenillas, Madison Bolton, and their teacher, Mrs. Jessica Rice,  painted each section of the heart to represent their school district, community, and kindness. Otoe County schools will each have a heart to design. The sections of the heart will be exchanged between the schools. Each school will complete their heart using sections from each district.  Ms. Frield's overall goal is to spread kindness through the arts and to encourage people to promote a culture of peace and kindness throughout the county.
