The group Patriotic Productions is planning a pair of events in support of veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Solid Gold Saturday Night is planned for Saturday, March 2, at South Creek Wedding and Events Center, 715 Grant St., in Blair. The event will feature music by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a prime rib dinner following at 7 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased online at: with proceeds to support the Purple Heart Flight on May 24.

The Nebraska Purple Heart Veterans Flight on May 24 will include veterans from Desert Storm, Iraq, or Afghanistan who have received a Purple Heart of Bronze Star with Valor. Veterans may download the application at: The veterans will stop at the national memorials, including: World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Air Force, Iwo Jima, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Section 60 at Arlington National Cemetery where the Fallen from Iraq and Afghanistan are buried. A special stop will include the national traveling memorial created by Patriotic Productions, Remembering Our Fallen, which will be near the Reflecting Pool for Memorial Day weekend.

A welcome home celebration is planned for the day of the event at 9 p.m. at the Durham Museum and Old Market. Patriotic excitement and fun will feature a parade as the veterans return from Eppley by trolleys. Organizers are looking for bands, kids groups, horses and more to walk in this evening parade.
