The Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Middle School, 7th and 8th grade students, performed “The Little Mermaid” to a full gym of parents and friends on Oct. 24.
The members of Glee Club (a group that meets before school two days a week) had speaking and solo parts in the production.
All 7th and 8th grade students participated in the “Sea Chorus,” and the middle school band students played at the beginning and end of the musical.
Syracuse vocal instructor Katie Morris said that it was a lot to take on, but she was very proud of the kids and all their hard work.  The students made all of the props, gathered their own costumes, and spent hours in and out of rehearsals preparing for the production.
Leah Leavenhagen played Ariel; Kaleb Swanson was Prince Eric
