The Syracuse Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their 2017 Recognition Night Feb. 9 at the Syracuse Country Club.
The evening program will recognize the member of the year along with community service award given to a person or group in the community.
Chamber members have been asked to give nominations to Executive Director Carolyn Gigstad.
At the December Chamber of Commerce meeting, they discussed the new “Welcome to Syracuse” signs that are being designed and built by Dolphens Sign.
One will be located on the northwest corner of Highway 50 and old highway 2.
The other will be south of town at the city roads department property.  This winter, berms will be built for the signs and the dirt can settle before their installation in the spring.  The signs will be 16’ by 6’ when finished.
Updates were given on chamber events including Tannenbaum success and the new Home and Garden show to be held in the spring.   Discussions were also held on new officer elections for the coming year. The next general membership meeting will be held Jan. 9.
