Over a hundred people gathered for the traditional Syracuse Tannenbaum Tree Lighting Ceremony at Midland and Main Dec. 4.  For the second year in a row, it was preceded by the Ministerial Association’s performance of the Living Nativity.
Following an afternoon of shopping, Santa, soup, and crafts, the crowd gathered at the tree for songs and the story of Jesus’s birth.
The play was performed by children and adults from area churches, and a group sang Christmas songs between each scene.
Following the Living Nativity, the crowd counted down and Little Miss GermanFest Lauren Brehm flipped the switch to officially light the town Christmas tree which was donated by Cheri and Don Straw.
