Mary Ann Damme, 84 of Cook, passed away on January 31, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse. She was born to Nor-man and Mary (Anderson) Lacey on September 10,1937 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the oldest of four daughters born to this union. She grew up in Tecum-seh, Nebraska and graduated from Tecumseh High School. She was united in marriage to Wesley Damme on October 7, 1956 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. To this union three children were born. Mary Ann was a farmwife and mother first and foremost and a very proud grandmother. Her family was her proudest achievement. She was a waitress at B&B Lounge/Broken Spoke and secretary at Triangle Supply in Cook, Nebraska and worked for the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska in housekeeping until her retirement. She was a faithful church attendee, sang in the choir and a member and officer in the Osage Women’s Fellowship. She also helped with the church food bank. She was a member of Friendly Farmerettes Extension Club and an organizational leader for Cook Junior Home-makers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mary(Anderson) Lacey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Ruth (Kuenning) Damme; sisters, Dorcas Pella and Norma Burns; brother-in-law Kenneth “Bud” Pohlman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Maynard “Pete” and Lois Kuenning. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Wesley Damme of Cook, Nebraska; sons, Lonnie (Julie) Damme and Dr. Jeffrey (Candy)Damme of Cook, Nebraska; daughter Karen (Dr. Scott) Lubben of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren, Jason (Tami)Damme; Nathan (Britney) Damme both of Lincoln, Nebraska; Tyler(Kate) Damme of Chicago, Illinois; Brandon (Tara) Damme of Syracuse, Nebraska; Angela (EJ) Buglewicz of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Matthew (Lauren) Lubben of Lincoln, Nebraska; Justin (Jacque)Damme of Cook, Nebraska; Jeremiah Lubben of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Dena (Jay) Wineinger of Omaha, Nebraska; Heather (Rick)Hardesty of Humboldt, Nebraska; Roger Dillon of Bellevue, Nebraska; sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchilden. Sister Debbie Lacey of Florissant, Colorado; brothers-in-law Pat Burns and Bob Pella of Beatrice, Nebraska and many nieces, nephews and friends.
