Nearly 150 youth ages eight through 15 participated in the Farmer Olympics at the Otoe County Fair, Friday, July 26, 2024.
Seventeen teams in Division 1; 12 teams in Division 2 and four adult teams navigated a six-station challenge course that “tested your inner farm”. They included navigating a stick horse around cones, lassoing, carrying water, sawing wood, and using a water gun to know down cups. First and second places based on time were recognized and there was also a prize for the best costume.
This was the third year for Farmer Olympics and the second under the FFA Booster and Alumni Association. Due to the overwhelming financial support of many community members and businesses, the $25 entry fee per team was waived. The FFA Booster and Alumni Association was formed to support FFA all year long.
