Danny P. Doeden

Danny P. Doeden, 72 of Cook, passed away on October 2, 2022, at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln. He was born on April 23, 1950, to Phillip H. & Eulabell (Hall) Doeden in Lincoln. Danny graduated from Cook High School in 1968. He joined the Army in 1969 and served honorably until he was discharged in 1972. On February 14, 1987, he married Carol L. Lee.

Danny worked as a mechanic and licensed electrician journeyman as well as farming. He worked at Bell & Howell, Wheaton/Alcan in Syracuse and lastly for the State of Nebraska Department of Corrections in Tecumseh. He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC (Osage), Cook Legion Post #360 and lifetime member of American Mensa. He enjoyed auctions, watching movies, building things and his pets.

He is survived by his wife Carol Doeden of Cook; sons Channing (Shawna) Doeden of Cook, James (Sheila) Doeden of Saline, MI, Tracey Doeden of Lincoln; step-son Riley (Lora) Flanagan-Brown of Hamden, CT; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister Janice Lesperance of Nixa, MO; also, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Cody Doeden; brother Floyd Thompson; and sister Shirley Finfrock.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s UCC (Osage) in rural Cook. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. Burial will follow at the St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery (Osage).

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
