Nebraska completes a four-game homestand on Saturday afternoon when the Huskers play host to Michigan State at Memorial Stadium.
On Saturday morning, the Unadilla Library hosted an exhibition in medieval sword fighting at the community center. It was well attended by 30 + interested community members, both young and old. The demonstration was provided by about 15 members of the Nebraska Swordfighters Guild (NESG). The NSEG website says the Guild “is dedicated to the research, practice and promotion of historical European Martial Arts.” They sparred with different bladed weapons of various sizes and uses and demonstrated physical takedowns while sparring. They focus with a primary emphasis in the Italian Longsword as written by 14th century knight Fiore dei Liberi. They also displayed replicas of body armor and protective wear of the period.
