A strong start to the season had the Syracuse American Legion Seniors baseball team entering June with a 4-2 record. The Rockets won their first four games of the season starting with a May 17 win over the E-M Post 247 Pirates, 15-0.
Syracuse opened the 2025 American Legion Juniors baseball season by scoring three wins in four games during the last two weeks of June.
Sophomore Mason Lintz of Syracuse High School capped off a strong golf season by competing at the Class C State Golf Tournament, held May 28–29 at Jackrabbit Run Golf Course in Grand Island. Lintz carded a solid 81 on Wednesday and improved to a 77 on Thursday, finishing with a two-day total of 158 and tying for 35th place overall in a competitive field.
The girls basketball youth camp was held on May 27-29. The camp hosted 51 athletes in grades 3 through 8. Campers worked hard throughout the week and were not afraid to push themselves!

There isn’t anything more electric, chilling, or emotional than seeing an athlete from your school cross the finish line with their arms in the air for first place! And that’s just what Jayden Meyer, Ashlynn Vestal, and Nolan Gartner did under the roaring crowds of Burke Stadium.
The Syracuse High School track team gathered on Tuesday, May 20, for their annual track awards banquet, led by first-time head coach Phil Janssen. The evening served as a moment of reflection and celebration ahead of the upcoming state meet.
Track isn’t always about the sights and sounds, it’s about the feels. And, on Thursday, May 15, at Johnson County Central in Tecumseh, the Syracuse Rockets gave fans a rollercoaster of emotions at the district track meet.
