1-105. SOUTH PLATTE RIVER COMPACT (1) Ratification by Nebraska Legislature COMPACT WITH COLORADO, SOUTH PLATTE RIVER AN ACT to ratify and approve the Compact between the States of Colorado and Nebraska, respecting the South Platte River, and to declare an emergency.

Ricketts discusses South Platte water, state taxes at NC Town Hall

Thanks to a 99-year-old agreement that was approved by Congress, Nebraska can build a canal in Colorado to bring water from the South Platte River to the state and store it in a reservoir here. The agreement, called the South Platte River Compact and signed by Nebraska and Colorado in 1923, Neb is entitled to 120 cubic feet of water per second from the South Platte from April 1 to October 15 annually for irrigation use.

2/18/22 UNL Tune-Up in Lincoln Lauren Meyer, University of South Dakota (‘20 Syr. Grad) - 11th long jump, 17’7”; 4th triple jump 36’6 ¼” Maddie Moran, Nebraska Wesleyan University (‘18 JCC Grad) - 3rd 60m, 7.59 seconds, places her #1 in Division III track and field in the event and a new NWU school record.

Six Rocket wrestlers secure state bids

District wrestling action at Madison saw the Syracuse Dunbar Avoca Rocket wrestling team qualify six for state as the squad finished fourth in the final team standings. Aquinas Catholic scored 231 for first while Raymond Central was second, followed by Filmore Central and SDA. Finishing behind SDA in order were Bishop Neumann, Superior, Tri County, Elkhorn Valley, Twin River, Tekamah-Herman, Hartington Cedar Catholic, BRLD, Grand Island Central Catholic, South Central Nebraska Unified, Madison and Lutheran High Northeast.
