On Friday, July 15, the Peru State Football Booster Club hosted their annual golf tournament at the Auburn Country Club. This year they had a great turnout of 21 teams in total.

On Wednesday, July 20, Peru State football player Garrison Dodge (Oakland) was named as a nominee for the Allstate’s 31st AFCA Good Works Team. This year there were 114 student-athletes who were named to the Good Works Team according to the press release.

Lily Vollertsen, a 2022 Syracuse-Dunbar Avoca graduate, has been selected to play on the red team in the 42nd Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Game on Monday, July 25, at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Northstar High School. Vollertsen was a standout athlete at SDA and broke numerous scoring records on the basketball court.
The Syracuse Post 100 Juniors rallied from down 6-0 and 9-5 to tie Elmwood-Murdock/Nehawka 9-9 entering the final inning before falling short 14-9 in an elimination game that determined which team would go to the tournament championship of the Area Tournament at Malcolm on Monday, July 11.
Doane University Athletics is pleased to announce the Doane and Pflieger-Olson GPAC Scholar-Athletes for the 2021-22 academic year. To receive both honors, a student-athlete must be a participant in their sport for the full year and hold a 3.30 grade point average. The GPAC award (marked with an asterisk * below) is presented to those who contributed to their varsity teams (10-percent of varsity events scheduled for regular season) or those who are eligible for the NAIA academic honor that will be announced in September.
Earlier this summer Peru State volleyball head coach Madison Kindle signed Olivia Gordon for the upcoming 2022 season. She is from Oskaloosa, Iowa and went to Oskaloosa High School. Gordon will also be a member of the Bobcat softball team.
