Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media Last week’s first cross country meet at Weeping Water saw the Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca pick up a team championship on the boys’ side and top 10 finishes on the girls’ side. Starting with the girls’ results, the Rockets had Rilynn Whitney finish third 25:12.71.

Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media Seventeen athletes are out for the cross-country program at Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca this season. Runners to watch for this year on the 14-member boys’ team are Sam Bennett, Creighton Orchard, Bryan Morquecho, Isaac Hestermann, Jacob Liscomb, and Nathan Cordray.

A total of 12 seniors are out for S-D-A football this season and Purdham said it’s great to see that doubledigit number as opposed to the four and five member classes of recent years.
Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media With key returners and lots of depth, the Palmyra High School volleyball team seems to be set for success in 2022 after posting a 19-11 record on the court a season ago. Coach Sarah Swartzendruber, who enters her 16th season of coaching this fall, said the Panthers are excited to have lots of depth this season.
Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media Palmyra High School’s football team will feature what Head Coach Tyler Maas describes as a deep nucleus of talent after the Panthers posted a 6-2 season a year ago. Drew Erhart will serve as the Panthers’ quarterback for the third straight season.

McMann has been on the squad the last two seasons and will be looking to make a push to qualify for the state golf tournament in her third and final season.
