The upcoming season will be a vast array of unknowns as the Lady Rockets come off a 21-5 season in 2021-22 and look to replace most of their scoring. The Rockets look for strength from one returning starter and three letter winners.

The Rocket boys’ basketball team, under the direction of second year Head Coach Adam Stotz, will feature a core senior group and younger players ready to step into roles on the team for the 2022-23 season.

Wrestling—it is a way of life for many in the Syracuse area and it is a comradery like no other. With a strong youth program, participants can start as early as age five. The program provides ample opportunities for practices and competitions throughout the year. Many of the current high school wrestlers participated in the Syracuse Youth Mat Club and are shining in their high school careers.

After recording three wins in the last six games of last season, the Palmyra girls’ basketball team will be looking for more success in the 2022-23 campaign under second year coach Braston Maibaum. “The 2021/2022 season was a learning experience for a lot of our girls,” said Coach Maibaum.

A close brush with state tournament qualification figures to motivate the Palmyra boys’ basketball team for the 2022-23 season under fifth year Head Coach Zach Wemhoff. The Panthers return four senior starters in Hunter Pope, guard; Alex Hatcher, guard; Jacson Dillon, guard; and Zach Fitzpatrick, forward.

A young Palmyra wrestling roster made a late season push a year ago and are ready to build on that success in the 2022-23 season under Head Coach Andrew Weils. Palmyra qualified three wrestlers for the state tournament a year ago and Coach Weils noted the wrestlers improved down the stretch and started winning more matches later in the season.
