Protecting American Intellectual Property Act goes to Biden

U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the bipartisan Protecting American Intellectual Property Act. Sasse (R-NE) worked with Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) to introduce the legislation. Earlier this week, the legislation passed the Senate. It now heads to the President’s desk.

Grants available for historic renovation work in rural communities

Applications are being sought for $350,000 in grant funds available for repair and rehabilitation of historic properties in communities of less than 30,000 population. The Rural Nebraska Historic Preservation grant program, being administered by History Nebraska, is intended for properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places, properties in a National Registerlisted historic district, or sites determined to be eligible for listing.

Brandt signs LOI Concordia University

Syracuse High School Senior, Barret Brandt, has accepted an academic and wrestling scholarship from Concordia University in Seward. In the past 12 months, Barret visited a number of colleges deciding on Concordia which he feels will be a good fit for him. Impressed by the campus, staff and wrestling coaches and teammates, Brandt made the decision Dec. 13, 2022.
