A first inning run turned out to be the difference making score for the Syracuse American Legion Juniors in a 4-3 win at Tecumseh on July 3.Both teams finished with six hits and posted equal runs with one each in the fourth inning and two each in the sixth inning.Hit leaders for the Rockets were Mason Lintz, single and double; Braxton Kelch, two singles; and Peyton DeMello and Brogan LaFollette, one single each.Elliot Harden pitched a complete game with seven innings.

The Syracuse American Legion Juniors baseball team picked up two wins in three games last week and moved its season record to 9-8.Juniors 9, EMN 8Syracuse finished the game with nine runs on four hits and had one error.Kyle Cavanaugh had two hits while Brogan LaFollette and Elliot Harden had one hit each.Harden pitched two innings, struck out two, walked two and allowed four earned runs on five hits.

Baker Seelhoff, son of Tim and Hilarie Seelhoff, had a hole-in-one at the Syracuse Country Club on June 6.

A Barrett Bischoff double followed by a Conner Thompson single in the sixth inning delivered the game winning run for the Syracuse American Legion Seniors baseball team in road action against Nebraska City at Clemmy Holmes Field on June 12.Bischoff had two doubles in total in the game.

Three victories allowed the Syracuse American Legion Juniors baseball team to even its season record at 7-7 during action last week.Juniors 6, ETC Knights 2The Rockets scored six runs on eight hits and did not commit an error on June 11.Kyle Holz and Braxton Kelch had two doubles each.

Syracuse rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and had a chance to tie the game, but Sampson Construction (Lincoln High) was able to hang on for a 7-5 win on Saturday, June 8.The Rocket Junior team, which was playing up in terms of competitive level against a Class A Senior team, had the score tied 2-2 after five complete innings.
