Jayden Meyer and Natalee Wemhoff combined to score 32 points as the Syracuse girls’ basketball team earned a 60-47 win on the road at Fairbury on Jan. 24.
Eleven Syracuse wrestlers earned medals including five who won individual tournament championships, and the Rockets claimed the top spot in the team standings at the 2025 Capitol Conference tournament at Fort Calhoun on Jan. 25.
Rocket senior Will Janssen filled up the stat sheet as the Syracuse boys’ basketball team topped Plattsmouth at home on Jan. 25 by the final score of 68-55.
The Rocket girls’ basketball team (6-7) played at home against Milford, on Jan. 14, and on the road at Arlington, on Jan. 16.
In its only action from last week, the Syracuse High School boys’ basketball team fell at Arlington, 61-38, on Thursday, Jan. 16.
It was a busy week of dual action for the Syracuse Rockets as the team traveled for a dual at Bennington on Jan. 14 and had duals against Twin River and Fairbury at home on Jan. 16 before hosting a dual tournament on Jan. 17.
Eight Rocket wrestlers earned medals during the two-day Norm Manstedt Invitational on Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11, in Columbus.
Road wins over Wilber-Clatonia, 47-28, on Tuesday, Jan. 7, and Louisville, 39-38, on Friday, Jan. 10, pushed the Rocket girls’ basketball team to a 6-5 mark.
