There’s something sacred about track season in Nebraska. Maybe it’s the unpredictable spring weather — like Thursday, April 17, when temperatures hit 85 degrees and southern winds gusted up to 23 mph. Or maybe it’s the legacy — the names, the moments, the records etched into memory. For Syracuse, the annual Scott Nisely Memorial Track Meet is more than a competition; it’s a tribute. A reminder. A celebration.
The Syracuse High School boys’ golf team continued their strong spring season with an impressive 4th place finish at the DC West Golf Invitational, held Wednesday at The Pines Country Club near Valley. Competing against a tough field of 16 schools, the Rockets posted a team score of 335.
The Syracuse track teams made a strong showing at the first-ever Palmyra Track Invite, braving gusty spring winds to bring home a host of medals and standout performances.
With questionable weather forecasts, the Syracuse Golf Invite went off with cooler temperatures and some early afternoon winds, only for the Rockets to win as a team with 320 strokes compared to second-place Exeter Milligan Friend with 326.
After the success of last fall’s boys youth volleyball clinic, Rockets Volleyball Club (RVC) took a bold step forward this winter by launching its first-ever boys club volleyball program for grades 7-12. The new program, a milestone in RVC’s history, provided a fresh opportunity for young male athletes to explore and grow in the sport.
The Syracuse Rockets track teams soared to victory at the Auburn Invitational on Tuesday, April 1, with both the girls’ and boys’ teams capturing champion plaques—and not without rewriting the record books along the way.
