Eldora Lena (Damme) Wellensiek

Eldora Lena (Damme) Wellensiek, 100, of Adams, Nebraska, formerly of Tecumseh, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Gold Crest Nursing Home in Adams. Eldora was born on July 17, 1921 and raised on a farm south of Cook, Nebraska. She was the fourth child of Julius and Emma (Niebrugge) Damme. Eldora was baptized August 31, 1921 and later confirmed at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Osage). She attended District #21 Stony Point School through the 8th grade. Eldora then helped on the farm and worked in Cook for Elvo Pratt’s Grocery Store and Produce. She married Harold Wellensiek on September 20, 1946 at the Osage Church. The couple made their home in Tecumseh where they lived their entire life.

Elizabeth F. Gellerman

Elizabeth F. Gellerman, 79 o Omaha, passed away on March 27, 2022, at the Hospice House in Omaha. She was born on March 15, 1943, to August & Irene (Sugden) Engelbrecht in Syracuse. On August 24, 1962, she married Dan Gellerman at St. John’s UCC in Syracuse.

Robert L Doeden

Robert “Barney” L. Doeden, 80 of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He was born on March 10, 1942, to Emil & Ruth (Powell) Doeden on their farm near Table Rock, NE. After graduating from high school, Barney served in the Army Reserves. On September 1, 1984, he married Cheryl Smith in Syracuse.

Lyle J. Carman

Lyle J. Carman, 65, of Cook, NE, passed away March 9, 2022. He was born on April 28, 1956 to Duane and Darlene (Pieper) Carman in Syracuse, NE. Lyle worked for many years as a diesel mechanic in Lincoln, NE. He would travel the country working on semi-trucks that would go on to win many trucking competitions. In his younger years, he enjoyed going to drag car races, air shows, and on family vacations. He also had a special place in his heart for his pets throughout the years, especially his dog, Penny. Lyle is survived by his Daughters, Nicole Carman (Jon), Tara Woltemath (Josh); Son, Lane Carman; Grandchildren, Bailey Retzlaff, Alex Woltemath, Kate Woltemath; Brothers, Garry (Sharon) Carman, Mike (Kathy) Carman, Bob (Deb) Carman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and Nephew, Allan Carman Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 18, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, NE. All memorials are greatly appreciated and are suggested to the family to help pay for funeral expenses.

Nathan J. Kahler

Nathan J. Kahler, 14 of Syracuse, passed away on March 6, 2022, at the Syracuse Hospital. He was born on November 6, 2007, to Nathaniel Kahler & Megan Christiansen in Lincoln. Nathan attended Syracuse Elementary School through 3rd grade, then he started attending the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired in Nebraska City where he was in the 8th grade.

John David (JD) Albers, Casa Grande, AZ went to his ultimate heaven of a cattle ranch next to a beach with tractors and cold beer on February 28, 2022. He was born March 26, 1963 to John W and Betty Albers of Avoca, NE. John robbed the cradle on November 11, 1989 and married Tammy Zenisek of Eagle and to no surprise they went deer hunting on their honeymoon. John and Tammy had two offspring, Danielle of Lincoln, NE and Brandon of Sturgis, SD.

Mary (Gergen) Wellman

Mary (Gergen) Wellman, of Lincoln, passed away February 28, 2022. She was born in Nebraska City, NE on September 14, 1949, to Irwin and Rita (Volkmer) Gergen. Mary graduated from Syracuse Dunbar High School in 1967. After high school she attended St Mary’s College in Omaha and St Elizabeth in Lincoln, earning a degree as an Xray Technologist. During her working life she worked with several different clinics in Lincoln and Columbus.
