Donald Gray of rural Louisville, has retired from his position on the Otoe County Rural Water District No. 3 Board of Directors. Don joined the Board on Jan. 28, 1980, and was officially elected to the position of Secretary in January of 2013,a position he occupied until April of this year.
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Syracuse City Council, opened their regularly scheduled meeting recognizing Jerry Stilmock on his retirement. Stilmock has been the city attorney since 1992 serving the city for 33 years.
Members of Grace Lutheran Church in Cook recently welcomed Bishop Dr. Frederick Shoo of the Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT-ND) to their community. Bishop Shoo was accompanied by his wife, Janet, and Ronnie Green, Tanzanian Missions Volunteer Coordinator for the Nebraska Synod.

Three wins between June 4 and 9 raised the Syracuse American Legion Juniors baseball record to 6-2.
The girls basketball youth camp was held on May 27-29. The camp hosted 51 athletes in grades 3 through 8. Campers worked hard throughout the week and were not afraid to push themselves!
The Better Ba Cs 4-H club went to Linden View in Syracuse to make door ornaments with the residents. The residents had a lot of fun making them as well as the 4-H members.
