The family of Ken and Jan Mueller is requesting a card shower to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on May 1st.

SAH hosts fourth annual Easter celebration
Syracuse Area Health hosted its fourth annual Eggstraordinary Drive-thru Celebration on Thursday, April 17, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Children up to third-grade age could see the Easter Bunny and pick up a goodie bag. Smiles were the order of the afternoon for those giving and receiving the treats.

Easter event draws big crowd in Nehawka
The population of Nehawka nearly tripled to 500 Sunday when 150 kids from babies to high school seniors gathered to collect 2400 Easter eggs in four age-bracketed hunts hosted by the Nehawka United Methodist Church.

Inclusive and Accessible Playground Design and Bid Approved
A design and bid for a new playground was approved at the Syracuse City Council meeting Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The bid from Creative Sites in the amount of $380,258.50 includes the structure, Ecoturf poured rubber surfacing, installation and freight. The playground measures 76’ x 73’9” and will be situated south of the current playground in Williams Park.
Syracuse City Council meets, approves SRS event
The Syracuse City Council met on Wednesday, April 9, and approved a street closure request by the Syracuse Rescue Service (SRS).

Rocket volleyball Club takes bold step
After the success of last fall’s boys youth volleyball clinic, Rockets Volleyball Club (RVC) took a bold step forward this winter by launching its first-ever boys club volleyball program for grades 7-12. The new program, a milestone in RVC’s history, provided a fresh opportunity for young male athletes to explore and grow in the sport.

On Monday, March 24, Otoe County 4-H held the annual 4-H County Communication Contest.

Unadilla News 4-4-25
Saturday, Bob and I, and Jenn & Scott Hitzemann travelled to Grand Island to attend the 2025 Class “B” All-State Honor Band Concert at Northwest High School in Grand Island. Such an amazing amount of talent broken down into three classes. The Symphonic Band was led by Sandy Murphy; the Wind Ensemble by Lori Falcone; and the Jazz Band by Bob Krueger. Truly gifted students and a most enjoyable afternoon. And a delightful meal at Texas T-Bone Steakhouse! Who could ask for more!
