The County Fair is coming right up. Are you entering anything? Love looking at all the exhibits. They sure do bring back memories of 4-H and riding the ferris wheel. Remember the church stands and the awesome food they served? This past Sunday, the grounds and surrounding area were packed with people and horses. It was a lovely sight!

Wyatt Higgins hit a lead-off double in the fifth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly Mason Lintz and that was the difference in a 2-1 win for the Syracuse American Legion Juniors baseball team against Nebraska City at home on Sunday, June 22.

Seventh grade students study World War I in unique collaboration
Collaboration between four teachers at Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Middle School resulted in a four-week cross-curricular project for seventh-grade students that allowed them to use their creativity to explain an aspect of World War I.

One Syracuse High School (Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca) student, Hunter Jazbec, was among 130 high school students from across Nebraska who participated in the 29th Nebraska Masonic All-Star Marching Band, which performed the halftime show for the Shrine Bowl game in Kearney.

NC’s Downtown Summer Movie Series continues Saturday
The 2025 Downtown Summer Movie Series continues tomorrow (Saturday, June 21) with “Sonic the Hedgehog.” The free series features family-friendly movies shown outdoors in the Sunken Parking Lot on Central Avenue Saturday nights at dusk in the summertime.
