Two Syracuse High School Esports teams placed at the winter season state competition in Division 3 on Feb. 4. Playing Clash Royale seniors: Gabe Dilley and Leland Dilley and juniors, Jacob Panko and Jared Panko were state champions. Playing Mario Kart: Gabe Dilley, senior Jeremy Bohaty, junior Cooper Johnson and freshmen Ethan Bohaty and Caleb Bush placed third. The winter season eSports team sponsor was Micah Buller.

Theresa Frary, a December 2022 graduate of Peru State College, is the first student to complete the Career Scholarship Program. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Management.

The Otoe County Democrats welcomed Jamison Wyatt as guest speaker at their February 15th meeting. Jamison has worked for the State of Nebraska since 2008 in various capacities and is currently a legislative staffer for Senator Anna Wishart.
