S-D-A Middle School honor roll

The Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Middle School has released its third quarter honor roll. Earning high honors were Eighth grade: Hadyn Berner, Kelsay Engelbrecht, Wyatt Higgins, Madilyn Kailing, Kaita Kreifels, Luke Kuenning, Mason Lintz, Tristan Sisco, Josh Stinson, Izzy Stubbendick, Nathan Wemhoff, and Brylar Werner.

State Patrol K9s receive protective vest donation Nebraska State Patrol K9’s Jerry, Amos, Chase, Ezra, Fahn, Gable, Havik, Lee, Malloy, and Tilt have received bullet and stab protective vests, thanks to a charitable donation from the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s Inc. K9 Jerry’s vest was sponsored by an anonymous donor and was embroidered with the sentiment “Honoring those who served and sacrificed.” K9 Amos’s vest was sponsored by Bridget McGowan of Tehachapi, Calif., and has been embroidered with the sentiment “In honor of all working, retired and departed K9s.” K9 Chase and K9 Lee’s vests were sponsored by the Bomonti Family of Renton, Wash., and have been embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Janice Bomonti.” K9’s Ezra, Fahn, Gable, Havik, Malloy and Tilt’s vests were sponsored using general funds and have been embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s Inc.” Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

Arbor Day Foundation named partner in Girl Scout Tree Promise

Girl Scouts of the USA is one step closer to fulfilling the Girl Scout Tree Promise, thanks to a new partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. As the world’s largest membership nonprofit dedicated to planting trees, the Arbor Day Foundation brings momentum to Girl Scouts’ commitment to 5 million climate supportive actions by 2026, including planting trees, protecting existing canopies, and providing tree education for Girl Scouts.
