Randee (Witt) Castillo, a Peru State College senior, is also a multi-location business owner. She, her husband, and her family own Happy Life Nutrition locations in Auburn and Plattsmouth.
Peru State Phi Alpha Theta student attend national conference in New Mexico
Dr. Jason Phillips and Dr. Kathi Nehls took seven students to Phi Alpha Theta National Biennial Conference in Albuquerque, N.M., in January. Students presented papers from upper-division courses, and capstone papers.

Syracuse discusses DTR fund availability for local businesses
The City of Syracuse hosted an open house on the availability of funds for the Syracuse Downtown Revitalization (DTR) project on Thursday, March 23, at the Syracuse Library. Over 25 individuals representing downtown businesses attended. Representatives from SENDD (Southeast Nebraska Development District) and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development were also in attendance to provide an overview of the application process, timeline and eligible improvements.

Shamrock Shuffle raises funds for Project Playground
On Saturday, March 25, Project Playground hosted the Shamrock Shuffle. A one-mile fun run was available to youth participants while adults could run or walk a 5k both of which concluded at Williams Park.
