Nebraska State Senator Bob Hallstrom visited the Nebraska City Rotary Club on Wednesday, July 2, and provided the audience with a report on his first term in the state legislature. Hallstrom said the legislature spent a lot of time working on budget matters, so legislators were unable to get as much done as first hoped on reducing property taxes. The second session of the 109th Legislature is scheduled to convene Jan. 7, 2026.

The Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Class of 1975 celebrated their 50th Class reunion on Friday evening May 23 at the Unadilla Community Building. Through their high school years their class number was about 80, but on their graduation day of May 15, 1975, there were 75. At the reunion we had 37 classmates in attendance. We have lost 12 classmates. These classmates were honored in a pictorial display along with a dozen yellow roses. On Saturday evening May 24, we were the honored class at the annual alumni banquet. 29 classmates were in attendance.
